    Default Encashment of Earned leave

How the 10 days Encashment of Earned leave for the purpose of LTC is to be calculated. Whether it should be on the basis of number days of the particular month for which leave is applied for availing LTC or to be calculated on 30 days

    Can anybody please clarify

    Dear friend,
It is to be calculated on the uniform basis that a month consists of 30 days. The rationale behind this is that for every month EL is added at the uniform rate of 2days and one half of a day, irrespective of whether the Six month period contains February or July-August!. Second rationale is that encashment of earned leave of 300 ( or the applicable days) days is calculated on the basis of Basic pus Grade pay plus D.A for the whole month of 30 days, irrespective of whether the calander month in which the G.S retires has 28 days,29 days 30 days or 31 days.

If you still insist for authority, I shall give you.

    With regards,
    Badri

Mr Badri is absolutely correct. The formula for calculation is as specified for retirement encashment. It is 30 days only.
