    Default Deputation pay

How pay of deputation should be fixed who will joined after 1.1.2006 . Whether deputation shall be treated as promotion or direct recruit? If none of this, kindly clarify the pay fixation process for deputation. If there are any order, please mention

    Dear friend,

A deputationist has an option either to have his pay fixed in the scale attached to the deputation post (similar to promotion) or draw deputation duty allowance @ 10% of basic pay (pay in the pay band) subject to a maximum of Rs. 4000 in addition to the pay drawn in the parent cadre post. The deputation duty allowance is 5% of basic pay subject to a maximum of Rs. 2000 in case of deputation with in the same station.

For details you may refer to the OM of DoPT No. 2/22(B)/2008-Estt.(pay II) dated 03.09.2008.

But it does not clear whether I can get the pay of direct recruit or not?

    Dear Friend,

Normally it is not permissible. In case you are from private sector and appointed on deputation on the personal staff of Ministers then, you may be granted the Grade pay corresponding to the post in which you are appointed and your pay in the pay band may normally be fixed at the entry level pay prescribed for your Grade pay vide Section II, Part A of First Schedule to the CCS (RP) Rules, 2008. OM of DoPT No. 2/23/2008 -Estt. (Pay II) dated 28.05.2009 refers.

But you mentioned the pay for the staff of minister's personnal staff. But we came from government organization with lower basic of 3500 and get higher basic 4500 on deputation period. Then what will be the basic formula of fixation of my pay as on 1.9.2008? Clarify and if there is any such order , please mention it.

As per OM No. 2/22(B)/2008-Estt.(PayII) dated 03.09.2008 of DoP&T, you will draw Deputation duty allowance @ 10% of basic pay (5% in case of within station) subject to a maximum of rs. 4000. Basic pay will include pay drawn in the pay band of parent cadre and the applicable Grade pay.

    Question

But the method is very much surprising. Why I will not get minimum salary of Rs. 2800 grade pay amount. Because in the old scale I am getting Rs. 4500 scale which is the basic amount. But in CCS revised rule , 2006 why I will get pay of ex-cadre and grade pay of deputation post. I think this fixation process is wrong. Please read all the order and make comment.
