Smile Grant of leave on medical certificate to Gazetted and nonGazetted Government servants

    1. As per Rule 19 of Leave Rules, it has been mentioned " the production of a medical certificate in case of an application for leave for a period not exceeding three days at a time. Such leave shall not, however, be treated as leave on medical certificate and shall be debited against leave other than leave on medical grounds.

Senior members are requested to kindly clarify the meaning of last line i.e. "Such leave shall not, however, be treated as leave on medical certificate and shall be debited against leave other than leave on medical grounds"

Suppose any employee applies CML for 01 day on 05 Feb 2016 without any medical/ fitness certificate than whether his leave will be published as "GRANTED 01 DAY CML ON 05 FEB 2016 WITHOUT MEDICAL CERTIFICATE BY DEBITING 02 DAYS HPL" or how his leave will be published.

Except for Commuted Leave, the employee can apply for any other leave due and admissible.

    Sir, Thanks for quick reply.

    1. Sir, Kindly confirm whether in this situation, employee is to apply EL or CL or HPL when The authority competent to grant leave may, in its discretion, waive the production of a medical certificate in case of an application for leave for a period not exceeding three days at a time.

    2. It is not understood as to why the same has been mentioned under Rule 19 Grant of Leave on Medical Certificate.

You can apply any leave which is due (EL/HPL/EOL/CL) as it is your choice.
