    Default Dependency clause for LTC

My mother is a family pensioner getting Rs 3500/- + DR as monthly pension. Can I declare her dependent fully on me for LTC. Can anyone clarify rules in this regard plz?

No you cannot declare your mother as a dependant, a she has an income of Rs. 3500/- + DR per month.

R u sure? Can you quote rule? Some people say that you are not dependent if your monthly income exceeds minimum family pension.

Absolutely sure. You can check the CCS (LTC) Rules, http://persmin.nic.in/DOPT/Employees...)/contents.htm
