Default LTC by Private Airlines to visit NER/Port Blair

Now that Central Government Employees can visit NE, PortBlair by conversion of one hometown LTC, it is requested to clarify whether journey by air by non-entitled officers can be performed by Private Airlines or by Air India only. Also if a non-entitled officer performs the journey directly from Delhi to Port Blair by air, (Pvt Airlines or Air India) can it be restricted to the entitled class of rail fare and air fare (LTC-80) as provided in the DOPT circular.

As per the Order dated 26.09.2014 (http://ccis.nic.in/WriteReadData/Cir...26092014-A.pdf) air travel has to be performed by Air India only.

If the journey is not perormed by entitled class then the same would be restricted to entitled class. However, air journey has to be performed by Air India (economy class) only. If the journey is performed by private airlines then the claim may not be cleared at all.

Thanks victor for guiding again, please clarify one more question::
If i travel delhi to madras in rail in entitled class and then cheenai to portblair by air india on ltc-80 fare but due to non availblity of air india ltc ticket, i purchased a private airline ticket from irctc directly from portblair to delhi, that is priced very less than ltc-80 airfare of air-indias portblair to cheenai ticket. What i get as reimbursement?

Journey by private airlines is NOT admissible at all. Your return journey will NOT be reimbursed at all.
