If one is appointed in the post comparable to grade pay 4200 than he will be entitled to three upgradations under macp, i.e., 4600, 4800 and 5400(PB2)

You are eligible for the GP of 4600 with effect from 1-1-2006 since it is the corresponding GP of 6500. You are eligible 2nd MACP to the GP of 4800 with effect from 1-9-2008 and eligible for third MACP to 7600 from Jan.2014.(presumed that your pay on appointment was in the scale 5000)

You have got two promotions; one in 1985 and the other in 1996. Hence you are eligible only for the 3rd MACP, which is due from 1-9-2008. The Grade Pay corresponding to the second promotion post(6500) was modified to 4600 (http://finmin.nic.in/6cpc/omdated131...00gradepay.pdf). Hence you are eligible for Grade Pay of Rs.4600/-from 1-1-2006. You are also eligible for GP of Rs.4800 from 1-9-2008 as third MACP. You are eligible for revision of pay accordingly. You are not entitled to any further upgradation under MACP.
