    Default Increment for carrying out higher responsibility

    Kindly clarify if an Assistant has got ACPS in 2003 in Pay Band 5500-7000 and on VI CPC implementation in pay fixed in Pay Band Rs.9300-34800 with GP of Rs.4200/- on VI CPC implementation and got the post of Superintendent in 2008 in same Grade Pay is eligible for one increment in similar Grade Pay on promotion.

    No pay fixation benefit is admissible in this case.

    Assuming Assistant was in the pay scale of Rs 5000-9000 and got ACP in the pay scale of Rs 5500-9000, both are merged with grade pay Rs 4200. In that case, as on 1 January 2006, the incumbent shall be granted the grade pay of Rs 4600, since the promotions earned in merged scale shall be ignored. However, there shall be no refixation of pay on his promotion as Superintendent
