    Default Annual increment

    Sir,

July 1 increment day falls on sunday. Some of my colleagues have applied for regular leave during previous week and will be reporting for duty on 2nd July. Some of them have taken leave from 2nd july. Please clarify whether all will be eligible for grant of increment from 1st July since it falls on a holiday.

If 1st July falls with the leave period (other than CL) then increment will be postponed. For eg. if leave (other than CL) is from 29th June to 2nd July, then increment will be granted from 3rd July.

However, if leave is up to 29th June and joins duty on 2nd July OR person was on duty up to 29th June and proceeded on leave from 2nd July, then in both the cases increment is admissible w.e.f. 1st July.

There will be no restrictions in case of CL. A person can be on CL on 29th June as well as on 2nd July and still get the increment on 1st July.

    Sir,

An employee took Casual Leave for 3 days on 29th June, 2nd & 3rd July, 2012 with permission to leave Hqrs and proceeded to Goa. She joined duty on 4th July after returning to Delhi. Whether she is eligible for grant of annual increment w.e.f. 1st July OR 4th July. Kindly clarify.

Yes she is eligible for annual increment w.e.f. 1st July 2012 as CL is not a recognised form of leave.
