The annual ceiling of CEA is 12,000 (Rs.15,000 w.e.f. Jan 2012) per child. If you have paid fees for 10 months than the CEA ceiling would be restricted pro-rata. In the instant case the ceiling per child would be Rs. 10,250/- (Rs. 1,000 x 9)+(Rs. 1,250 x 1).

Tuition fees – for the Whole Year or months subject to a max of Rs. 1000/- (pm/child/AY) + Purchase of books (one Set/child/AY) + Purchase of Note books (one Set/child/AY) + Purchase of Uniforms (Two Sets/child /AY) + Purchase of school shoes (one set/child/AY) = 15000/- max

Para 1(e) of OM dated 2.9.2008 is very clear on this and may kindly be perused (http://circulars.nic.in/WriteReadDat...c-eduallow.pdf).

In my view, Music Fee, Uniform (Canvass Shoe, Sweater, T-Shirt, etc.), Text Books (Devotional / Song Book, Diary Book, etc.) and Computer fee would be available for reimbursement.

    Sir Victor,

Thank you for your comment. But what should I do for the other items since I am dealing CEA file in the office and there use to come claims of items which i listed in my query. Whether to accept all the listed items in CEA Claims or No. Please clarify also whether tuition, hostel fee and mess fee, all the three, can be permissible for hosteller claim?
