Default applying for a post in lower pay scale

I am a Central Govt. employee drawing grade pay of Rs.4200/-. As I am currently posted out of Punjab and the chances of transfer are also very remote so I want to apply for a post in Punjab Govt. carrying grade pay of Rs.2800 but the administration refused to forward my application. They that one cannot apply for a lower post. Is this true? Should I then apply for the post without informing my office?

    There is no such restriction.

As per rules applying for outside employment is for better prospect. It is better you take your cadre controlling authority into confidence and narrate your problem and try to convince. There is no harm in applying without intimating your office in that case you will loose the service rendered

Default applying to a lower job

As per Central govt. rules, an employee can go to a lower post on transfer by basis if he wants so on personals grounds citing reasons such as to look after ailing parents or other dependent members of the family.

    Default Applying for lower post

    Sir,

Nowhere it is specified that a CG employees should apply only for higher post. You have right to apply for a lower cadre post if you find the prospects are better there.

    Sir,

I think you can resort to application for the said post on COMPASSIONATE GROUNDS.
In our department, we apply to the AG's Branch in the Army HQ for mutual/ compassionate transfer/ transfer to a lower post etc. who keeps a waiting list and sends whenever a vacancy becomes available. There may be such a provision in your department also. Find out and apply.
