Your basic pay might be rs 12820 and not rs 12813. Thirty four month basic pay shall be admissible as hba. The admissible amount shall be rs 435880

The amount of HBA is 34 times of pay in the pay band. Grade Pay is not taken in to account. This was with effect from 27-11-2008. By the new order dated 14-7-2010, government has decided to make the date of effect to 1-1-2006. Those who had taken HBA from 1-1-2006 to 26-11-2008(based on the pre revised scale) are eligible for balance amount.

The new orders regarding hba is for those who had drawn hba as per 5cpc. They can now draw the difference under their pay as per 6cpc. For example your basic as per 5cpc was rs 6900+3450(DP) your earlier eligibility(34month pay) was rs 351900 and now it is 435880. You can now draw the difference of rs 83980

The amount of advance shall be 34 times of the pay in the Pay Band(repeat Pay only not Pay + Grade Pay)

    Dear friends,

As defined in the CCS (RP) Rules, 2008 – (i) “pay in the pay band” means pay drawn in the running pay band; and (ii) “basic pay” means pay drawn in the prescribed pay band plus the applicable grade pay.

The admissible ceiling of HBA is linked to “pay in the pay band” and not the “basic pay”.
