    Default grade pay

Will you clarify if one is opting fixation after next increment subsequent to promotion, he is entitled for grade pay in the intervening period?

definetly. If someone opted to fix his pay from date of increment and not from the date of promotion, he will get the benefit of higher grade pay from the date of promotion. The higher grade pay will however not be taken into account while calculating the increment at the time of fixation on promotion either the normal or promotional. It will be calculated on basic +grade pay corresponding to earlier post. After fixation difference of grade pay will again be added and will be counted for future increments.

If one is opting new scale/fixation from the date of promotion which is after 1.1.2006, no grade pay is payable till that time. But if he is opting from the next increment date, grade pay is payable.

"date of next increment subsequent to promotion" is not clear. He should mention the dates for clarity.

    Default grade pay

    From vbp to suda
The issue relates to fixation in the prerevised scale on promotion .if one had opted under 5cpc scale for temporary fixation at a stage in the promoted post( 1july) and subsequently gets permanent fixation after increment (1 november)n the previous (under fr22) post. How will new scales(6cpc) be fixed if he opts for promotion date ( which should be basic pay to be reckoned).is he eligible for new pay as perfixation table based onthe final basic pay

Default No Grade Pay for opting wef Promotion Date

    There are two options:

new scale with effect from the date of next increment. In this case you are entitled for grade pay from 1.1.2006 although the fixation will be done wef the date of increment.

new scale with effect from the date of promotion: Here you will not get the grade pay until the date of your promotion. While promotion your pay will be first fixed in the pre revised promoted scale and using the fitment table applicable to your pay scale new pay is fixed including the grade pay. Till the date of promotion you will be entitled only to your pre-revised basic (before promotion) plus DP and DA as on 1.1.2006 only. This is the result of clarification OM issued after the Notification OM.
