I am an LDC working in Puducherry Government. My pay was fixed at Rs.6100 as per VI CPC w.e.f.01.01.2006. I was promoted as UDC on 9.8.2007 and my pay as on date of promotion was fixed at Rs.6850 (6590+1900) *3% as per Rule 11 of CCS (RP) Rules 2008. As per the fitment table the pay corresponding to Rs.4000 in the pre-revised scale is Rs.7440. The difference of Rs.590/- (7440-6850) does not help me to understand the benefit of promotion. My Office is of the view that if in order to get the pay fixed @ Rs.7440, I have to forego the arrears of Rs.36,000/- from 01.01.2006 to 08.09.2007 as per rules, if I opt for fixation from the date of promotion .I do not understand the anamoly in the fixation. Pl. advise whether I can get both the arrears from 01.01.06 and the pay fixation @ Rs.7440/- on the date of promotion as UDC .
