    Default Option date of increment

    Dear (rpsbisht) Sir,

In case you are opting the revised pay from 1.2.2006, you will not be getting any arrears for the month of January 2006. However, your pay in the pay band will be = your existing pay as on 1.1.2006 + old increment
multiplied by 1.86 and such revised pay admissible for the month of Feb., March and April (3 months including the GP) will form part of your last 10 months emoluments as on the date of retirement for the purpose of determining your pension, and the emoluments as on the date of retirement for the purpose of gratuity, leave encashments, etc. Keeping this in view and the quantum of amount you may be loosing towards arrears payable for the month of January 2006, you may decide suitably please.

I hope this clarifies the position. However, I may kindly be corrected if otherwise, by all our friends. Rgds.

Red face Option of Revision for more benefit

As your increment is in Feb. 2006, you must opt from feb. 2006 else you will loose that increment! Those whose increment is due from Feb. 2006 to June 2006 will not get their next increment in 2006. As you will be retiring in April 2006, you will stand to loose unless you opt from Feb. 2006.

    By opting from feb 2006:

    you will get:

    1. More pension (depends on the last month pay)
    2. More gratuity (function of last pay)
    3. More leave encashment (-"-)
    4. More commutation (function of pension)

    a) less arrears for the month of Jan. 2006 (nil).

If still doubt, pl dont hesitate to seek further clarification
