    Arrow Promotion

    Sir,

In our Directorate office under state govt., earlier promotions were being made for the post of Dy Director from Asst. Director as well as Joint Director from Dy Director through our own Department( None of the case were referred to the Public Service Commission,WestBengal for recommendation.Because the entry to the post of Asst.Director are being made with the recommendation of PSC).

But, recently it was understood that the files will be sent to PSC for such promotional cases for their recommendation, which were not being done in earlier similar cases.

Now, we apprehend that the same process may get unnecessarily delayed if the cases are referred to PSC for which we exactly do not know the right procedure.

Therefore, can any body explain whether it is essential to refer to PSC ? Then why earlier cases are not being referred? From which source ,we may get the information for right procedure ?

This is an administrative issue and the Government may have taken a considered policy decision to refer such cases to the PSC for recommendations.

Kindly contact the nodal department handling personnel matters for clarification/information.
