    Question anomalies in fixation of pay after implementation of 6 CPC

    Sir,
    I was working as junior engineer (group c)( substantatively) in Andaman harbour works ( Govt of India) with a scale of Rs 5900 in 5000-150-8000 till 29-09-2007. i cleared U.P.S .C and joined Farakka Barrage Project ( govt of India) as Assistant Engineer ( group B gazatted) on 03.10.2007 in the scale of Rs 6500-10500. on implementation of 6 CPC would my pay be fixed as that of direct recruit or that of a promotte?
    My present department has fixed my scale of pay by considering me as a promotte ( though I am not a promotte)i.e. by giving an increment on old pay and giving corresponding grade pay of Assistant engineer i.e. Rs 4600.
    But my demand is either my scale should be that of a direct recruit with a Grade pay of Rs 4600 or corresponding scale of Rs 6500-10500 i.e. that of pre revised scale of Rs 7450- 11500 ( due to merger of both scales by 6 cpc)with a grade pay of Rs.4600
    Do you think my demand is valid

    Dear Friend,

    Your views are very correct. This is a clear case of anomaly and is under the consideration of the National Anomaly Committee. The official side of NAC continues to advocate its own views contrary to the popular and accepted principle of granting at least the minimum pay of the post to the promotees/re-appointees. The staff side is still not able to convince the official side even after two meetings. The issue will again be taken up for discussion in future meetings. You may have to wait for the outcome.
