Grade pay after MACP

my initial appointment scale is 5500-175-9000 as a Technical Assistant. and my appointment date is 10 july 1999. in our department MACP is not implemented yet and at present my grade pay is 4200 . now the question is that what will be grade pay (4600 or 4800) after 10 years service (10 july 2009). as in macp it is clarified that promotions earned in merged scales (5000, 5500 and 6500) will be counted for macp. i think my grade pay should be 4800. if three persons are appointed on same date in three different scales (5000, 5500 and 6500) then what will be grade pay after completing 10 years service. kinly clarify this

You may be aware the pre revised scale of 6500 has been upgraded and merged with 7450 and given GP of Rs.4600. Since your present gp is 4200 you are eligible for gp 4600 on completion of 10 years of service under MACP.

I could not understand because if two persons have joined their Job on same date but their pre revised scales are different (one in 5000-150-8000 and another in 5500-175-9000) then after completing 10 years service what grade pay will be given to both of them . if it is 4600 for both then what will be difference . I think for first it should be 4600 and for other it should be 4800, because he has joined his service in a higher pay scale which is a promotional pre revised scale for another. kindly clarify in a proper way if any one can?

Dear friend

The pre revised scales of 5000 and 5500 have been merged and given common grade pay of Rs.4200. Though your logic is correct, it is not so. As per the rules prevailing now both of them will get GP 4600 only on I MACP after 10 years. The only solution is the higher post should be upgraded giving entry gp of Rs.4600 since both feeder and promotional post have same grade pay causing functional disparity.

SINCE 5000-8000 AND 5500-9000 HAVE BEEN MERGED AND UNLESS YOUR POST IS UPGRADED YOU WILL GET THE THE GRADE PAY OF RS 4200 AND ACPs SHALL BE RS 4600, 4800 AND 5400 AFTER COMPLETION OF 10,20,30 YEARS OF SERVICE
