My querry is about probation rules for direct recruits. I joined a group A post in June 2004 carrying pay scale of 10,000-15,200 thru UPSC. As per DOPT rules, the prescribed period of probation for the posts offering minimum of Rs 2,000 or with maximum age of 40 yrs and requiring no post-recruitment training is ONE year only which is extendable maximum upto double the original period. The RRs for the said post mention probation period of TWO yrs with simply no mention of any extension. The offer letter given by the office before joining says the probation is for TWO yrs which shall be extendable at the discretion of the appointing authority. The taken-on-strength order issued two months after joining says the probation is for TWO years only, with no mention of any extension.

Now, I am in a fix. I have four documents saying different things! Which of them is admissible? My confirmation is held up in this embroglio.
