Recent circular by ministry of finance makes it madatory to to travel by AI.
the problem is all stations on tour/LTC are not connected by AI.
circular says officer may travel to nearest point by AI, what if that is also not covered.?
eg. Nagpur to kolkata and nagpur to chennai are not connected.
only flights from nagpur are to Delhi and Mumbai.
it may not be possible to refer individual cases to ministry.
further clarification is needed on this.

Straight ticket by Shortest route with connecting flight , ie. Nagpur-Mumbai-Chennai or Nagpur-Delhi-Chennai whichever is lesser fare, may be admissible, according to me. Same is the case for Nagpur-Mumbai-Kolkatta or Nagpur-Delhi-Kolkatta. However, it can be crosschecked and got confirmed.

Hi

There is no direct flight from Cochin to Bangaluru. Air India, on their web-site, gives a circuitous route of Cochin-Trivandrum-Bangaluru only. So, last week, one officer my office, had taken permission of PAO in advance and booked the ticket.;)

the order is misleading. it says wherver no connectivity, one has to travel to point closer to destination by AI.
so for travel nagpur to kolkata, how can one go to mumbai to get connetivity.?
it shall increase the distance.but AI web site shows this route.
similary going nagpur to chennai via delhi is rediculous.

the order says in all other case permission has to be taken by civil aviation ministry.
