Dear friends,

I served a Govt of India Dept for >10 years and thereafter joined a Central Autonomous Body (CAB) after being selected by UPSC. I was "deemed retired" from central Govt service under Rule 37(1) of CCS(Pension) Rules, 1972.

I was governed under CGHS in previous (GoI) Dept. Present employer has adopted CSMA Rules for medical benefits.

As I am now "retired" from GoI, I think I should have the option of continuing CGHS facility for pensioners on payment of a lump sum - the same facility available to retirees on superannuation (under Rule 35 of Pension Rules) or voluntary retirees (under Rule 48-A of the said Rules).

Please opine. Shall be thankful if relevant OM/orders may be cited.
