Can you please set up such calculator for senior citizens for the financial year 2009-10 as this may be helpful to most of the pensioners

Respected Member
Form 10-E can be downloaded from IT departments official website. This itself gives you the method of calculating the relief under section 89(1).

Can the DDO give relief under sec 89 or we have to claim for relief under Sec 89 with the Accession Officer while filing IT returns. Some body kindly explain the procedure.

DDO can give relief under section 89(1) provided the employee submits duly filled form 10E to DDO. Any doubts / clarification regarding relief under section 89(1) please mail to : [email protected]

Salary is taken as it is due for payment. Though the salary payments for the period from April to Feb of an year are due on the last working day of the month as per the Central Treasury Rules. The salary payment for the month of March is due for payment on the first working day of April. Hence salary for an year consists of payment from March to Feb as March and April are paid in April itself.
The arrears are also are due for payment accordingly.
