Hi Friends,

I need your advise in calculating TA for one employee Junior Asst
PB1 - 5200-20200 having Band Pay 5830 and Grade Pay 1900 Total Basic = 7730.

As per TA rules for metro city rates:

5400 GP and above ---- Rs.3600 +DA
4200, 4600 & 4800 GP & less than 4200GP but having PAY IN THE PAY BAND EQUAL OR MORE THAN 7440 --------- Rs. 1600+DA
Below 4200GP & PAY IN THE PAY BAND LESS THAN 7440 --------- Rs.600 +DA

Now how to interpret the PAY IN THE PAY BAND for the concerned employee is it Band Pay or Band Pay + Grade Pay.

Because if GP is included in Pay in Pay Band then he gets 1600 + DA and if only initial Band Pay is taken into consideration he will get 600 + DA.

Please tell me what to take into account.

"Pay in the Pay Band" and "Band Pay" are one and the same thing. The GS in this case will get Rs. 600 + DA as Transport Allowance since his GP is below Rs. 4200 and Pay in the Pay Band is also less than Rs. 7440.
