One of my neices, who is a CGHS beneficiary, was transferred to New Delhi. She surrendered her CGHS Card at the old Station of posting and joined her duties at New Delhi.
Unfortunately, before she could apply for her CGHS Card at New Delhi, she fell seriously ill and had to be admitted for medical treatment first at a Private Hospital and then at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. I would like to be enlightened as to what rules govern such Central Government employees for their medical treatment and reimbursement of medical expenses ?

In this case the patient should have taken a letter for nearest dispensary from her office and she can take the treatment. In this case reimbursement is permissible in relaxation of rules at the discretion of head of department
