In our office, a few employees went on tour from Haridwar to Gangotri by Garhwal Mandal Tourism nigam package. For travel portion alone, they incurred about Rs.1589/- for a distance of 230 kms. It is known that there is no public transport/state govt. transport system for this distance/route exist. I feel that the amount of Rs.1589/- on travel is fully reimbursible as they had used the service of state tourism department vehicle and no other modes of transport is available in that route. I welcome the views of other boarders in this regard.

Also, in another case, for a distance of 100 kms. the package tourism (govt) charges about Rs.250. How will this claim be regulated?
1) if the place travelled is connected by train.
2) if the place travelled is not connected by train but state transport buses run at cheaper rate say Rs.120/-.
3) the place travelled is not connected by train and also no state transport/public transport is run in that route.

Pl. give your views.

First you calculate the distance from the place of your duty to destined place(.) then mode of transport vs entitlement(.) the fare charged by govt in that class by other mode of transport is more than your entitlement your claimed be restricted to your entitlement otherwise it will be restricted with actual expenses
