Respected seniors,
Cadres of 6500/-and7450/-scales were merged and going to be known as on common designation as per recomendation of 6th pc.Promotion from 6500/- scale to 7450/- scale is stopped after implementation of pc.Those who promoted after 1/1/2006 had not get any promotional benifit except those who switch over to 6th pc after1/1/2006.Promotion from 6500/- to 7450/-was given in some categories as seniority cum suitability base and some other categories as selection basis. Both cases have the chances of junior bypasing seniors in 6500/-scale due to reservation, failure of seniors in selection and refusal of promotion by seniors.
Learned persons please clarify, for preparing common seniority list, seniority of which date is to be considered.

Dear seniors,
As I indicated in this thread,Ministry Of Railways already published list of new designation of merged scale on 14/09/10.As I mentioned in the 1st post some juniors got promotion from 6500/-scale to 7450/-scale after 01/01/2006 and some of them have availing benifit (increament) by opting the 6th cpc benifit after 1/1/2006.The order didnot tell about senioriy. Please clarify how the seniority will decide in unified designation.

Obviously the persons working in the pay scale of rs 7450 shall rank senior to persons working in the pay scale of rs 6500

Thank you Pathaksir,
As per your reply those who were promoted after 1/1/2006 from 6500/- scale to 7450/- scale will become senior eventhough the promotee is junior in 6500/-scale on 1/1/2006.Merger on 1/1/2006 will not affect the promotion after 1/1/2006 within in the merged scale seen as illogical.
Any way we can wait for further clarification and unified seniority list.
