Mr.MRINAL KANTI GANGULY asked

I'll be retiring in Jan'2011. My query is regarding " T.A.to (http://t.a.to/) place of settlement.

"Swamy's know your Retirement benefits" Page No. 42 Chapter 21 says
Settling down in the last station of duty we will get Lumpsum composite grant equal to one-third of your basic pay plus DP(2006 issue) and other benefits as in case of transfer.

But our office says that that we will get the benefit only if the Address is changed" , otherwise not.

Please clarify.

As per rules, lumpsum Composite Transfer Grant is admissible for settling down at the last station of duty or at a station not more than 20 km. from the last station of duty.

Further, if the govt. servant wishes to settle down permanently at the last station of duty then the benefits of TA, Transfer Grant, etc., will be admissible only if he has to change his residence as a result of his retirement.

In the case of settling at a station not more than 20 km. from the last station of duty, the residence will obviously change.

Dear friends,

When settling down in the last station, for getting Transfer Grant(One thirds) and Other charges including cost of transportation of personal effects etc, change of address is a must. When settles down in a station other than the last station, TA including full Lumpsum Transfer grant will be eligible.

with regards
