So, we expected DA WEF 1.7.2010 @10% and when DA is increased to 50% , whether Transport allowance is increased to 25% ?.

In the next year, when DA crosses 50%, all allowances will get a hike up to 25% as per the 6th CPC recommendations

For example, Children Education Allownace is increased by 25%. But not Transport Allowance.

Likewise, it has been mentioned that some of the allowances (list is in the Notification/Resolution of PC) will be increased.

Can anybody tell me the reason why Transport allowance will not increase by 25% when DA reaches 50%....? Where as Children education allowance will increase...! Does 6th CPC notification specifically mention this fact...?

Dear Friend,

The Transport allowance is already linked to the increase in dearness allowance. It increases every time the dearness allowance increases.

Dear Friend,

If an employee is on leave through out the calendar month, he will not be eligible for Transport Allowance for that month. Leave exceeding 30 days (less than 60 days) but split in two different calendar months will not affect Transport Allowance. In other words, if an employee is on duty even for one working day in a month (calendar month) he will be eligible for full month's Transport Allowance.
