1) When did the reservation start?
2) What was the vision behind it?
3) Has the vision been achieved?
4) Where lies the shortfall?
5) Is it good for national and communal integration?
6) Should reservation be provided simultaneously for education, employment and promotion?
7) Should reservation facility be extended to the ward of people who have availed the said facility in their life and are educated/employed to guide their next generation?
8) Reservation is a kind of preferential system, so how is "Right to Equality" justified?

Reservatin was started w.e.f. 26.01.1950 when the constitution was approved and implemented in india(.) the basic idea was upliftment of downtrodent society(.) initially it was for ten years(.0 but due to vested interest of our politicians the reservations is misused(.) downtrodent is still a downtrodent and uplifted one is florishing(.0 there is no end sicne it has now become an uncureable disease

It may not be possible now for anyone to stop this reservation menace. No political party will support the proposal to scrap reservation. Therefore it is better to have 100% reservation. Post 2010 census, based on the % of forward castes, backward castes and SC/ST in the total population reservation could be made proportionately. This will avoid cross cutting of others into one's quota as it exists now. This will be legally tenable, equitable, fair and justified as everyone is covered by reservation!!
