I joined as a temporary employee (the post was temporary) in 1996 but I was allowed to subscribe to GPF. After subsequent promotions now I am a permanent employee. There has been no break in my service. Can I continue with my GPF and claim for retirement benefits under the old pension scheme or I have to opt for NPS. Thanks in advance.

Dear Friend,

If you are already a member of CGEGIS and subscribe to GPF, you must be covered under CCS (Pension) Rules. No need to worry about NPS if you are eligible for pension (qualifying service must be more than 10 years on date of superannuation).
