Dear Members.

As per Children Education Allowance, reimbursement of tuition fee, admission fee, lab.fee, spl.fee charged for agriculture, electronics, music or any other subject, fee charged for practical work under the programme of work experience, fee paid for the use of any aid or appliance by the child, library fee, games/spores fee and fee for extra-curricular activities. This also includes reimbursement of cost of one set of text books and note books, 2 set of uniforms, one set of school shoes.

It is clear that fee for extra curricular activities include fees paid for abacus education, fees paid for typewriting, swimming, etc. However, in some offices it is interpreted that those extra curricular activities which have been conducted at school or through school only reimbursable. Since, there are only few schools organise these activities in their school, parents have no option but to put the children privately i.e. not through school.

kindly clarify whether extra curricular activities conducted by the school or through the school are only reimbursable or otherwise.
