On 1.1.2006 my basic pay was Rs. 6900/- in pay scale 5500......I was promoted on 29.06.2007 in pay scale 6500......as per the 6th pay commission i was granted pay band 9300 with grade pay 4200.....now grade pay Rs. 4600 is granted to me.....so on 1.1.2010 what should be my basic pay?

I like to point out the following, consequent to the implementation of 6th PC report with respect to Mr. A and Mr. B and request you to clarify whether as per the existing rules whether the stated anomaly can be set right.

1. Mr. A was drawing higher basic pay of Rs. 17300 in the scale ( 16400- 450 -20000 ) as on 1.1.2006 compared to Mr. B who was drawing Rs.16700 in the scale 14300 - 400 - 18300
2. The new basic pay as on 1.1.2006 was Rs.49790 for Mr.A ( Grade pay 8900) where as Mr.B ( Grade pay 8700) was fixed at Rs. 49590.
3. Consequently Mr. B got promoted to the scale of Mr. A ( Grade pay 8900) on 1.10.06 and pay was enhanced to Rs. 52820 where as pay of A was Rs. 51290.
4. Mr. A and B were in the same scale from 1999 onwards in the pay scale of 14300 400- 18300 with A from November 1999 and B from October 1999 . They were drawing the same basic salary of 16300 as on Nov 2004 when A got promoted to the higher scale and B got promoted after a lapse of 2 years ie in Oct 2006
5. Whether this is an anomaly. ie whether the salary of A who got promoted 2 years ahead of B can be stepped upto that of B. Both A & B cover under the FCS .

Dear Friend,

No doubt. This is a case of anomaly. Provision for stepping up of the pay of senior at par with that of junior as on the date of promotion of junior is available vide Note 10 below Rule 7 of CCS (Revised Pay) Rules, 2008.

Dear friend,

Note 10 below Rule 7 of CCS (RP) Rules, 2008 does not stipulate the condition of seniority in the feeder post also. Please go through the relevant rules.
